07:26 eDAC application, operational since Sunday. Announcement of the Gorj Gendarmerie Inspectorate – Radio Infinit

In the context of Romania’s accession to the Schengen Area, a new verification system has been operationalized, with the help of mobile devices distributed for this purpose, on which the eDAC application is installed, informs the Gorj County Gendarmerie Inspectorate.

The identity document is scanned and all data about the verified persons is automatically generated, protected and cannot be stored. Thus, the interaction with the legitimized person takes place more quickly.

Starting from Sunday, March 31, 2024, the gendarmes within the operational structures of the “Tudor Vladimirescu” Gorj County Gendarmerie Inspectorate will carry out identity checks with the help of smartphone-type mobile devices, having installed the application that gives access to the databases belonging to the Romanian authorities as well as those belonging to the Schengen Area, for operational purposes.
