The process of preparing the beaches for the summer season has been completed, and now the beaches are ready to welcome visitors in the new season, even if the weather is not on our side for now. The Dobrogea – Coastal Water Basin Administration started preparations for the beach sectors already in February, both contracted and non-contracted ones. The preparatory work was divided into 3 sections:

– Năvodari – Mamaia – Constanta;

Agigea – Eforie – Tuzla – Costinesti;

Olympus – Jupiter – Saturn – Mangalia – May 2 – Old Customs.

The maintenance process of these sectors involves a series of technological operations carried out on the entire Black Sea coast. The work, which includes sanitation, leveling, evacuation of clams, algae and waste, loosening and greening, is carried out with own machinery and personnel. Given the geomorphological dynamics of the coastline, the work was carried out repeatedly, especially in March and April, when storms caused significant changes. So the preparations for the summer season included the following operations:

Manual cleaning of the beach from foreign bodies and waste;

Manual loading of waste into means of transport or containers;

Manual removal of sand deposited on retaining walls and fences;

Mechanized leveling of sand;

Rehabilitation of eroded beach surfaces by sand transfer;

Dismantling reed fences;

Leveling of beach surfaces;

Evacuation of shell deposits and their crushing;

Transportation of machinery and waste to designated locations.

The total beach area managed by ABA Dobrogea – Litoral is 444.76 ha, distributed over several administrative-territorial units.
