The court ordered the removal of some records from the file of the former president of CJ Vaslui, Dumitru Buzatu. The recordings had been made by two “collaborators” in the file, one of whom is the boss of the construction company that gave the bag of money to Buzatu, when he was caught red-handed.

At the same time, the Vaslui court asked the DNA to specify whether it maintains the disposition to be sent to court or requests the restitution of the case.

A new deadline was set for May 10.

“According to art. 102 para. 2.3 Criminal procedure code related to art. 148 paragraph 3.10 of the Criminal Procedure Code, admits the exception of the nullity of the evidence consisting of the recordings made using technical devices by the collaborator with real identity Bîrzu Iulian and by the collaborator with real identity Savin Emil, and consequently orders the removal from to the case file of the excluded means of evidence, respectively: minutes of reproduction in written form dated 16.02.2023 of the recordings made by the collaborator Bîrzu Iulian on 15.02.2023, (…) as well as the optical support based to whom the registration was made; minutes of reproduction in written form dated 01.03.2023 of the recordings made in the environmental environment on 24.02.2023 (…); minutes of reproduction in written form dated 10.03.2023 of the recordings made in the environmental environment on 24.02.2023 (…); minutes of the recording in written form dated 16.02.2023 of the recordings made by the collaborator Bîrzu Iulian on 15.02.2023 (…); minutes of playback in written form dated 09/08/2023 of the recordings made by collaborator Savin Emil on 09/07/2023 (…); minutes of playback in written form dated 29.08.2023 of the recordings made by collaborator Savin Emil on 18.08.2023”, according to Monday’s decision of the court, according to Agerpres.

On April 17, the Iaşi Court of Appeal decided definitively to place the former Vaslui PSD leader, Dumitru Buzatu, under house arrest, accused of bribery.

Buzatu was caught red-handed by anti-corruption prosecutors when he received 1.25 million lei as a bribe to favor a company to obtain a contract.

The money was found by investigators in the trunk of his car, after the former president of the Vaslui County Council allegedly received it in a restaurant.
