A police commissioner from Gorj refused to be tested for drugs and says that the tests for detecting narcotics that are given to drivers in traffic give the most wrong results.

Police Commissioner Cristinel Tănase, head of the Police in Rovinari, was stopped in traffic by his colleagues from the Traffic Police in Gorj. They had him blow into a breathalyzer, which showed a zero value.

For the drug test, the commissioner refused stating that he is aware of the fact that this rapid test can give an error, in the sense that it appears positive for certain substances, although he did not consume them.

The police chief claims that rapid drug tests can also indicate whether you have chewed gum or used mouthwash.

Under these conditions, he refused to take a drug test and requested to go to the hospital for blood sampling.

The results were negative, and the traffic police could not open a criminal case against him, considering that there was no refusal to collect biological samples.

The police chief’s gesture raises suspicions, however, about the rapid tests used by traffic police
