“Together we make the world better” is a project carried out by several classes from Secondary School No. 8 in Sibiu in partnership with Preventive Secondary School No. 22 Sibiu, a school that operates within the “Dr. Gheorghe Preda” Clinical Psychiatry Hospital. The fifth edition of the project took place on Wednesday, April 24.

The activity was attended by 32 children admitted to the departments of Psychiatry, Pediatric Neurology and Neuro Psychomotor Recovery accompanied by the coordinating teachers, Julieta Toma, Dorina Neagoe, Lucia Butiu, Daniela Fugigi, Oana Rizea, Rodica Gavrilă, Elena Todireasa, Cristina Marcu and Maria Vișea Maria.

“Together we make the world better!” is a project included in the list of regional and inter-county extracurricular education projects that are carried out in Romania in the 2023-2024 school year.

It was initiated by teachers Daniela Băcișor, Carmen Cozma and Maria Popa from Secondary School No. 8 Sibiu in collaboration with CSEI 1 – Preventive High School No. 22 Sibiu.

“The aim of the project is to increase the level of involvement of young schoolchildren in non-discriminatory education activities, intercultural education and education for diversity. For this purpose we carry out joint activities. This was also the activity carried out on April 24, which had as its theme The Bunny is coming!”, says Daniela Băcișor, one of the initiators of the project.

During the activities, the religious significance of Easter was discussed, workshops were held in which Easter ornaments were made: wreaths, painted eggs, greeting cards and a bunny holder for eggs, and at the end the children from the hospital were awarded with bags with sweets prepared by the Maria and Manuel Aldea family.

“The children felt extraordinary, and wonderful things came out of their hands. Beyond the main goal, the project is an opportunity for socializing and good cheer for all those involved,” says Carmen Cozma, another teacher who initiated it.

As part of this project, activities are carried out on March 8, around the Easter holidays, and on June 1.

“For five years we have been carrying it out successfully in collaboration with other educational units in our county and in the country. Both we and the children can’t wait to meet again on June 1, when there will be another stage of our project”, says Carmen Cozma, another initiating teacher”, concludes Maria Popa, the third initiating teacher.
