A real estate ranking puts Sibiu first in the list of the most appreciated cities in Romania. 5 neighborhoods from Sibiu dominate the national hierarchy

A national ranking made by the Storia real estate portal based on the TRAI score puts Sibiu first in the country in terms of living standards. Moreover, the neighborhood hierarchy includes five areas of Sibiu in the top ten in Romania.

First of all, it should be stated that this ranking is a marketing tool rather than a ranking based on scientific criteria.

“TRAI by Storia is the tool that gathers data from objective sources to be able to provide you with the most relevant information when you are looking for a place to call home. We measure a series of key factors (Traffic, Landmarks, Air Quality and Real Estate – price per square meter) which, later, we translate into a quality of life score in Romanian neighborhoods”, say its creators.

Having said that, the top 10 best rated cities in Romania puts Sibiu first, with a total score of 76.9, followed by Brașov with 74.6 and Arad with 73.5.

The ranking is completed by Râmnicu Vâlcea, on 4th place, Cluj-Napoca on 5th place, Oradea and Iași on 6th and 7th places.

At the opposite pole, the top of the lowest rated cities in Romania is dominated by Tulcea, Călăraşi, Ploiesti and Alexandria. Brăila, Deva and Slobozia follow.

The same source also presents the Voice of Neighborhoods National Score, valid as of March 2024, i.e. a national top of Romanian neighborhoods with the best standard of living.

In first place is the Băncilor neighborhood in Arad, followed by three neighborhoods in Sibiu: Valea Aurie, Trei Stejari and Ștrand. Also here we find Strand II and Calea Dumbrăvii.

The high scores of the Sibiu neighborhoods are given by the high level of public safety, bicycle paths, water quality, sanitation, gas supply (criterion taken into account no) and the degree of satisfaction of the inhabitants.
