A certain category of Romanians will be able to get thousands of euros from the state through the “Prima conectare 2024” program. It is a program financed by the Government of Romania through the funds received from the European Union through PNRR.

The “Prima Conectare” program from 2024 brings new opportunities for families with low incomes in Romania. The government, through the funds received from the European Union through the PNRR, has allocated substantial amounts to support families who do not have access to public water supply and sewage systems.

According to the program, each eligible family, with an income per family member under 1,700 lei, can receive up to 1,900 euros to connect to these essential services.

The government announced that two sessions of the program have already been held, in which almost 300,000 lei were allocated to 34,000 households. The total funds for “Prima Conectare” in 2024 amount to 850 million lei, and involvement in the project is constantly growing.

Laurențiu Neculaescu, president of the Environment Fund Administration, said that the program is financed from PNRR funds and that new contracts of 48 million lei were recently approved.

“In the two sessions held so far, we have somewhere around 300 million lei contracted and around 34,000 households that will benefit from the water and sewer connections”, said Laurențiu Neculaescu.

It is important to note that this program is intended exclusively for single people or families with low incomes. Those interested must contact the water and sewage operators in their locality to request funding and complete the necessary formalities to benefit from this financial support, according to dcnews.ro.
