Introducing Samsung 2024 TVs and Music Frame

--

For 2024, Samsung has prepared the QLED, OLED TV ranges and Lifestyle products such as The Frame TV or the Music Frame speaker.

Samsung S95D – OLED

Today we present the S95D OLED TV with 4k resolution and glare free technology. Samsung’s 2024 OLED TVs are 20% brighter than their predecessors and offer high contrast and deep blacks, and color accuracy is AI-enhanced and Pantone validated. Actually, this AI thing is all over Samsung and pretty much every TV manufacturer.

The face model has a chipset with 20 neural networks that takes care of all the image processing to deliver the best content. All these networks also handle upscaling from a lower resolution to 4K, so it should be useful for watching content that is published on TV channels, for example.

For this year’s models, Samsung also brings OLED Glare Free technology to reduce reflections, without sacrificing color fidelity and clarity. It is clear that reflections are reduced and as an OLED TV is not very bright this technology will really help to watch darker movies during the day.

Smart Products, the business that is always looking for the newest technologies in the world. Of…

We all know that OLED is also good for gaming due to its fast response time, and this TV has a refresh rate of 144 Hz so it will be good for consoles that run games at 120 FPS, but also if you connect it to a pc. Samsung also praised the fact that this processor automatically optimizes the image according to the game. How this will actually help remains to be tested.

On the sound side, we are talking about Dolby Atmos compatibility and the sound experience will be improved if you also put a soundbar next to it. It also has something called Active Voice Amplifier Pro that enhances the voice so you can hear the dialogue better.

The TV looks good, it’s slim, it’s beautiful, it has that classic stand and one connect box for all your connectivity needs.

Otherwise, Samsung’s TVs, all unveiled today, run Tizen and have Samsung Knox security chips, solar-charged remotes. The model in the picture has a diagonal of 77 inches, but it is also available in 65 and 55 inches.

Samsung NEO QLED QN900D – 8K TV

Here we have the top of the range neo qled 8k qn900d with 8k resolution and an AI processor with 512 neural networks for upscaling and content optimization. This time the NQ8 AI Gen3 processor is available on this model and processes the image, handles upscaling up to 8K resolution and helps render fast moving objects. It’s called AI Motion Enhancer Pro, and it’s supposed to help your TV render images of a soccer or tennis ball better and see it more clearly, even at high speeds.

Of course, the demo images we saw on this TV looked excellent and the 8K resolution helps a lot with the clarity of detail. Also, if the previous model seemed to you to have small black edges of the display, here they are almost gone, at least on the top and sides. At the bottom, the edge is slightly larger, but you won’t be looking that way anyway.

It’s a nice TV, but also expensive. The model in the picture has a diagonal of 75 inches and costs 30,000 lei, and should be available in 65 inches and 85 inches. Somehow 8K TVs remain niche this year as you don’t find native 8K content everywhere, nor do you find games at native 8K resolution, but upscaling also works well in movies and games.

Speaking of gaming, it has support for 4K resolution at 240 Hz. You NEED a super PC for this, but at least the option is there. You have freesync and automatic game optimization.

Samsung NEO QLED QN90D – mainstream 4K

Last but not least and probably the most interesting for most of you is the qn90d neo qled with 4k resolution, AI processor and 144hz refresh rate.

This TV has the same processor as the OLED model for upscaling and processing, also refresh at 144 Hz and compatibility with Dolby Atmos and Active Voice Amplifier Pro. And this one is Pantone validated, has optimizations for video games and so on. The model in the image is one with a diagonal of 65 inches and costs 12,300 lei. It is available in several diagonals from 43 inches to 85 inches. It is possible that this TV, among the three, is the middle way for those who do not want 8K resolution, for those who do not want to shell out extra money for OLED, the 65-inch equivalent costing 15,000 lei.

Music Frame

The last product is music frame, a very interesting picture speaker that can be placed on the table like here, on the wall and can be used individually or together with the TV.

The Music Frame is a speaker that resembles a painting and can be customized to fit into many environments. Sonos and IKEA have such a product, and the Music Frame is similar. It’s quite heavy at 4.3 kilograms and you have to be careful when attaching it to the wall. The image in the middle is printed and can be easily changed by removing the plastic and you can replace it with whatever you want. That’s cool and means you can change it easily and quickly. After a short audition here I can say that the speaker sounds good, but still I think it will be more useful for individual use for music in another room.

These are the most important Samsung televisions that will arrive in stores in Romania. Read the article if you want to buy a TV or if you are curious to see how technology evolves in this segment.
