Through a press release, the Vrancea County Council announces that it has allocated, during the meeting on Thursday, March 28, 2024, the amount of 70,140 lei (net) necessary for the participation of Focșan students in this world competition, in Houston, in which 243 teams from all over the world.

During today’s ordinary meeting of the Vrancea County Council, special guests were the members of the “AI Citizens” robotics team from the National College “Al. I. Cuza” from Focșani, who will represent Romania at the First Tech Challenge Robotics World Championship, which will take place in the United States of America between April 14-24, 2024.

At the initiative of all the county councilors, the Vrancea County Council allocated the amount of 70,140 lei (net) needed for the participation of Focșan students in this world competition, in Houston, in which 243 teams from all over the world are registered.

Vice Ionel the Great He congratulated the members of the “AI Citizens” robotics team and wished them success: “I congratulate you on behalf of all the county councilors and all the residents of Vrâncen. Although you said you don’t want to be stars, you already are for us. We are waiting for you with outstanding results from the world championship as well!”. And vice-president Marian Oprișan, as well as county councilors Adrian Crețu and Gabriela Marchitan, general school inspector of Vrancea county, congratulated and encouraged the members of the robotics team who put Vrancea county on the world map.

The “AI Citizens” robotics team that will travel to the World Championship in Houston is made up of 12 students: Irina Curcă, Elisa Elena Baciu, Petru Stoica, Raul Ștefan Busilă, Marius Bogdan Hanu, Rami Stanilă, Cosmin Daniel Lupu, Călin Matei Sandu , Ștefania Găină, Rareș Costin Constantinescu, Bianca Maria Gorgan, Tudor Deian Bernovici, coordinated by tutors Tiberiu Oprea and Mihaela Victoria Oprea.
