The City Hall of Sector 6 started the development works of Liniei Park in May 2022. It is located in Militari and was basically laid out on the former railway, which served several factories, and the adjacent land, over a length of 400 meters.
The works cost 15 million lei.
“Finally, we managed to start the works on the park at Cora Lujerului. It took a long time to get this former industrial land, which we will give back to the community in the form of a park. I thank those from the Ministry of Transport and CFR, because they understood the public need for this project and I am confident that the whole line will be transformed into a longitudinal park, because the residents of Militari do not actually have parks. It is an extremely polluted area , is the main gateway to Bucharest and people have nowhere to go. The children stay with their parents or grandparents on the boulevard and it’s not normal”, said Ciprian Ciucu, at the start of the works.
The railway line has not been used for many years.
Lini Park includes bike paths, basketball courts, skatepark, children’s playground, dog area, drydeck fountain, hammocks, beanbag chairs.
Also, trees, shrubs and perennial plants were planted on a 5,000 square meter portion of the park’s surface.
