There will be 80 places with free access, but with a surcharge if the number of minutes set by the City Hall is exceeded

On Thursday, March 28, the Brasov municipality published the tender announcement for the installation of an automated parking system in the Brasov City Hall area, a purchase that includes both the preparation of the documentation and the supply and installation of this system. The estimated value of the purchase is 595,857 lei, including VAT, and offers are expected until April 11.
The proposed system to regulate parking in the area between the town hall and the Romanian Post building, as well as the one between the Post Office and Heroes’ Park, contains a system of barriers and cameras equipped with registration number recognition so that access inside this parking lot will be controlled , and those who exceed the term provided for accessing the services of public institutions, will pay for the period of time that exceeds the limit provided for free parking. The free period has not been announced by the municipality.
According to the statement of the mayor of Braşov, Allen Coliban, the parking lot will have a capacity of 80 places. “Those who leave their cars there longer will pay a fee high enough to discourage them from using the car park for anything other than its intended purpose. After signing the contract, the supplier has a maximum of 4 months for design and execution”. stated the mayor Allen Coliban.
According to the specification, this parking access and control system includes 3 electromechanical barriers, two entry stations and an exit station with technology for parking customer identification based on car number recognition video cameras. Also, a video system will be installed (four cameras with a dedicated video analysis system for recognizing customers’ registration numbers), an automatic payment station, two panels for displaying free seats, a sensor system for detecting the degree of occupancy parking spaces, but also public lighting control systems by creating adaptive lighting.
Currently, Braşov City Hall provides 7 reserved places for citizens who come to solve their problems at the institution. The councilors’ parking is also provided, but for them the City Hall has to calculate special times, because, more recently, there are plenary sessions of 10-12 hours.
