In this case, the deceased girl’s aunt and uncle are also being investigated under judicial control, the two defendants being accused of complicity in qualified murder, complicity in three crimes of mistreatment of minors and complicity in two crimes of domestic violence, writes Agerpres.

“On 13.02.2024, the prosecutor from the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Galati Court ordered the initiation of the action against the defendants VA and VEM, under the aspect of committing the crimes of complicity in qualified murder against a family member, (…) complicity in three crimes of mistreatment of minors, (…) and complicity in two crimes of domestic violence, (…) noting that in the period 2021-30.01.2024, while they lived together with the defendant VE,, on the basis of the same criminal resolution, strengthened her criminal resolution by the state of passivity shown (failure to notify the authorities / lack of any initiative to defend the victim and the injured persons / bypassing the repeated criminal behavior of the defendant to the detriment of the three minors) towards by her actions (perceived directly) of subjecting her to degrading treatments (exposure to the cold and forcing her to perform physical exercises)”, according to a press release issued by the Public Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Galati Court.

According to the cited source, the uncle and aunt also denied the mother’s acts of “exerting acts of extreme violence (multiple blows with blunt objects and burns on the entire surface of the body) on the victim VAE and on the injured persons TMM and VIC, her daughters, currently aged 9 years, 6 years and 4 years, actions that ultimately caused the death of the VAE victim and traumatic injuries that required 3-5 days of medical care for healing in the case of the TMM injured person and 2-3 days of care medical for healing in the case of the VIC injured person and put their physical, intellectual and moral development in grave danger”.
