Repair and maintenance work at the Alba Carolina Citadel: Citadel fountain or Union bridge among the objectives of the over 4.5 million project launched in SEAP

More repair and maintenance work is to be done in the Alba Carolina fortress. Alba Iulia City Hall wants to repair several objectives through a 4-year framework contract.

“The Vauban Bastion Citadel is a Class A historical monument, therefore maintenance and repair work must be done by specialists certified by the Ministry of Culture.
Alba Iulia City Hall proposes to conclude a framework contract for 4 years for maintenance and repair works as follows: repairs for wooden elements (benches, trash cans, stairs), Unirii Bridge repairs (replacement of glass plates, painting of metal parts) , repairs for metal elements / repairs for bronze parts (repair statues, fences, bike racks, chains), repairs of artistic components (statue plinths, works of urban art), masonry and plinth repairs (walls, tunnels, gates, arches), stone pavement repairs (roadway, sidewalks, parking lots), other categories of work that might be necessary (boots, tourist signs, boundary posts),” stated the spokesperson of the Alba Iulia town hall, Flaviu Butafor ziarulunirea.ro.

According to the documentation, the Vauba Alba Carolina bastion fortress is to receive the following works:

-Repairs for wooden elements: benches, planters, trash cans, footbridges, access stairs, platforms, bus stops.

-Repair of the Union bridge.

-Repairs for artistic components: plinths, benches with planters, fortress fountain, works of urban art.

-Repairs for metal elements/bronze parts: parapets, fences, gates, boundary posts, bike racks, information boards.

-Masonry and plinth repairs

-Repairs of stone pavements: roadways, parking lots, sidewalks, bicycle tracks, platforms, surface terraces

-Other works: revising ornamental limiters, installing signposts, speed limiters, checking and repairing the public clock, cast iron cover and frame, street culvert.

The project will be financed from budget funds.

The project put up for auction on the Public Procurement Electronic System is worth 4,606,945.04 lei. The period for submission of offers is until 16.04.2024.
