FC Petrolul: “The Disciplinary Commission within the FRF decided, today, to sanction the Dinamo Bucharest club with the measure of scheduling the next four official games without spectators.
The first of these games will be, thus, Dinamo – FC Petrolul Ploiesti, from the second stage of the play-out phase of the championship.
The match will be played on Monday, April 1, from 8:30 p.m., at the “Arcul de Triumf” stadium in the capital.”
Club Dinamo states that the decision of the Disciplinary Commission of the FRF, by which it was sanctioned with four matches behind closed doors, represents a slap in the face to football.
It is hard to understand how, instead of only the hooligans in the stadiums being punished, the LPF bosses decide that all the supporters should suffer.
Dinamo announces that it will fight with all its forces, transparently and legally, for the rights of its supporters.
“Today’s decision of the Disciplinary Commission of the Romanian Football Federation (FRF) represents a slap in the face to football and destroys the efforts made in recent years by the FRF, LPF, rights holders, clubs, sponsors, to bring the public back to the new stadiums built by CNI, to increase the average number of spectators every season, to hope that we are, and with football, in the European Union.
We unconditionally support the deterrence of any form of violence in stadiums and believe that the legal and regulatory provisions must be applied, directly and proportionally, to those responsible for committing antisocial acts. In other words, zero tolerance!
It is not a language borrowed from the electoral campaigns, it is the proof that we have always had a correct and responsible conduct, in full agreement with the legislation and norms of civilization. Dinamo does not only have history and performance behind it, today’s Dinamo lives for the fans.”
We will seek justice through commissions, through lawyers and we will challenge this decision made according to regulations that have been in force for many years. Four stages with “closed doors” mean the end of the season, for our supporters, at the matches played at home, at the Arc de Triomphe or at the National Arena. It’s not normal, it’s not a fair fight for all 10 play-out teams! The legitimate interest of the competition is that each club can defend its chances on the field, benefiting from the support of its own fans. Antisocial acts, seen by an entire country, cannot remain without the natural legal consequences.
The gendarmes have their share of the blame, the club and the stewards, too.
In addition to the individual sanctions imposed against those directly responsible, we accept the suspension of some sectors of the stands, but we cannot agree to a general ban, applied globally to fans who have respected the rules of behavior in sports arenas. They are not to blame!
There are eight stages, eight finals in which the team’s fate can be decided in the medium and long term.
However, it would be unfair if our fans, famous all over the world for their passion and creativity, could not support their favorite team.
Dinamo will fight with all its might, transparently and legally, for the right of our supporters to be with the team, in the stands, match by match”, stated the Dinamo club.
