A new ship for transporting passengers to the Tudor Vladimirescu suburb arrived today in Tulcea.

The Municipality of Tulcea made the purchase through the investment project entitled “Access facilities between the fishing area in the suburb of Tudor Vladimirescu and the Municipality of Tulcea – Boat purchase” within the Operational Program for Fishing and Maritime Affairs (POPAM) 2014-2020, launched by the Local Group Association for Sustainable Fisheries in the Danube Delta (Delta Flag).

The boat, built and supplied by a company from Galati, has a length of almost 13 m and a height of over 4.70 m, has a transport capacity for 50 passengers, and the purchase price is over 1.44 million lei, approximately 350,000 euros, from non-refundable European funds.

The ship has a 5-year warranty, it is equipped with a closed and an open salon, it is equipped with a photovoltaic panel installation that ensures the charging of the batteries on the ship and implicitly the energy necessary for the operation of the equipment on board.

Technical data:

The boat is a catamaran passenger vessel, made of PAFS (glass fiber reinforced polyesters), light composite material, fireproof, which complies with the provisions of environmental and fire legislation.

The ship’s propulsion consists of 2 diesel engines, inboard, with axle line, their total power being 160 HP. It is equipped with an installation of photovoltaic panels that ensure the charging of the batteries on the ship and implicitly the energy necessary for the operation of the equipment on board.

The ship will allow a maximum load of 6t; a maximum draft of 0.70m; a displacement of 12t.

The equipment included in the ship’s equipment are:

– command, supervision and control post;

– manoeuvrable installation – tying, towing and anchoring;

– radionavigation installation: multifunctional RADAR-GPS-SONAR system;

– steering system: hydraulic type with rudders;

– signaling and rescue equipment according to the rules in force;

– automatic fire extinguishing system in the engine compartment, with fire pumps and hose cabinet, fire extinguishers in the saloon and on the ship’s deck;

– water supply installation;

– MARPOL type waste water discharge facility;

– air conditioning installation;

– electrical installation;

– fuel installation;

– bilge drainage installation.
