On Thursday, the National Meteorological Administration issued a code yellow information for strong wind, including for Bihor county.
The warning is valid from Thursday at 20:00 until Friday at 10:00.
“During the night from Thursday to Friday (March 28/29) in Crişana, Maramureş, the north-west of Moldova and locally in Transylvania, the wind will show intensification with speeds in general of 55…65 km/h, and in the high area of In the Apuseni Mountains and the Eastern Carpathians, the gusts will exceed 90…100 km/h”, says the ANM website, where a map with the counties under the weather warning was also published.
In this context, the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations “Crişana” of Bihor County recommends citizens to avoid travel during the manifestation of the forecasted phenomena and to take shelter in buildings or closed spaces, which ensure their protection.
The ISU also recommends that in the event that citizens are caught in open areas, they must quickly move away from the area where the warned phenomena are manifested and identify a space that guarantees protection.
“To limit the possible damage caused by the strong wind, the parking of vehicles will be done in safe areas, at a safe distance from trees, billboards or electricity poles”, the ISU also transmitted.
If they have information about people who are in danger or other situations that may negatively affect communities, citizens are advised to notify the authorities immediately, by calling 112.
