A company from Croatia is interested in opening a “green” business in Gorj county. Projects revolving around renewable energy have been successful in Croatia, especially in former mining areas, and, the prefect of Gorj County believes, such an investment would be auspicious here as well.
Iulian Popescu posted on his Facebook page the discussion with Smitran, the entrepreneur from Croatia whom he invited to Gorj and to whom he explained the potential and the industrial facilities here.
“We are developing in the entire ex-Yugoslav area projects for energy storage in batteries that allow, in turn, the implementation of many renewable projects throughout the area. I saw in Gorj a lot of potential for such projects, thanks to the infrastructure. It is a new business, a green business in correlation with the European Green Deal and Fit for 55 agenda, and I believe that these projects can help the appropriate transition for the mining areas in Romania. New technologies will teach local communities to prosper and people to live here, not to go to Germany or from Croatia to Italy,” said the investor.
