The 31-year-old woman from Bucharest, detained for 24 hours, because she performed cosmetic surgery without the right

A 31-year-old woman was detained for 24 hours, and will be presented to the magistrates with a legal proposal, because she repeatedly performed minimally invasive aesthetic surgeries without having this right, reports Agerpres.

“The police officers of the General Directorate of Police of the Municipality of Bucharest (DGPMB) – Economic Crime Investigation Service – Sector 2, executed a home search warrant and a warrant of arrest, in the Municipality of Bucharest, in a criminal file regarding the commission of crimes of exercising a profession or activity without the right and fraud”, informs the press office of the DGPMB.

Representatives of the Bucharest Public Health Directorate were also present at the home search, who noted the lack of sanitary regulatory documents and operating permits, the woman in question being fined 70,000 lei, according to HGR 817/ 2011.

According to the investigators, from August 16, 2022 until now, without holding an official qualification in medicine, the woman would have practiced the profession of doctor on the territory of our country, by repeatedly performing minimally invasive aesthetic surgical interventions, in other conditions other than the legal ones.

The woman allegedly carried out procedures specific to the profession of plastic doctor/esthetician or dermatologist, for at least 20 women, consisting of injections with hyaluronic acid, as well as other procedures, at an office without a health authorization to operate in the Capital, as well as at an office from Constanţa county.

“The suspect would have obtained patrimonial benefits from the injured persons, following the provision of these non-specialized and unauthorized medical services, in the amount of approximately 19,800 lei”, says the quoted source.

The investigations are being continued by the policemen from the Economic Crime Investigation Service – Sector 2, under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the District 2 Court, in terms of committing the crimes of unlawful exercise of a profession or activity and fraud.
