At this year’s edition of the ITF European Taekwon-do Championship for Juniors 2, Juniors 1 and Seniors, the Romanian delegation includes no less than 67 athletes from the whole country. 13 of them come from Vaslui and are registered at the Sports Club “Liga de Est” Vaslui, respectively the Sports Club “Sulsa” Vaslui.

Officials of the Romanian Taekwon-do Federation announced on Sunday, March 24, that the national team that will represent Romania at the ITF European Taekwon-do Championship for Juniors 2, Juniors 1 and Seniors has been finalized and confirmed. The continental competition will take place in Lublin, Poland, from April 18-21. Until then, however, between March 31 and April 7, the centralized training will take place in Baia Mare, at the training camp, where the Romanian delegation will take part, numbering 67 athletes, eight national team coaches, a national team technician and seven referees.

As shown in the document published on the Federation’s website, 13 Taekwon-do practitioners (a style of martial arts originating from Korea) from Vaslui were also included in the delegation that will travel to Poland. 12 of them are registered at the Sports Club “Liga de Est” Vaslui, and one at the Sports Club “Sulsa” Vaslui.

The “Eastern League” is represented by the following competitors: • Ștefania Eliza Filip (Junior II, female, wrestling – 56 kg, tull 1 dan); • Karina Paula Bojoagă (Junior II, female, special techniques); • Alexandru Ignat (Junior II, male, wrestling – 55 kg); • Teodora Elena Darie (Junior I, female, burglary); • Matei Alexandru (Junior I, male, tull 1 dan); • Fabritzio Florin Ciobotaru (Junior I, male, burglary); • Laura Isabela Munteanu (Senior, female, tull 1 dan); • Amalia Teodora Codreanu (Senior, female, tull 2 ​​dan, force burglaries); • Ionuț Andrei Chiriac (Senior, male, tull 2 ​​dan, techniques

Club “Sulsa” is represented by athlete Ștefan Liviu Toma (Senior, male, tull 3 dan).

And as far as the technical staff is concerned, Romania relies on a few people from Vaslui, namely the coaches Mihai Hondru, Marcel Miron and Marius Ionicescu and the referees Cristian Popa, Alin Zaharia and Eleodor Gheorghian, the last one being from Clubul Sportiv “Kwon” Bârlad.
