“We will have a modern market”

--

Cibin Square will undergo an extensive modernization process. The entire area will be transformed with this urban regeneration project. In this sense, important steps are being taken, so that the Zonal Urban Plan is currently being worked on.

The modernization of Cibin Square is a project of great importance for Sibiu. The whole area around the square will be completely transformed, but until the work starts, there are still things that need to be put in place. Currently, work is being done on the realization of the PUZ. “Currently, work is being done on PUZ-CP, that is, PUZ historical area, it was already in the urban planning technical commission. After it goes through the City Council, we will contract the SF (feasibility study), the PT (technical project) and the execution”, explained Astrid Fodor, the mayor of Sibiu, in the ordinary meeting of the City Council.

Teodor Birț, the director of Piețe SA, stated that he is in “permanent contact” with the designers and held discussions with them so that the activity of producers and traders is not interrupted. “What can I tell you, not many, because this procedure is not administered by us at SC Piețe Sibiu SA, but is the project of Sibiu City Hall. I am in permanent contact with those who won the design of the new Cibin Square. We have had several rounds of negotiations with them to ensure that the market will be functional and we will have all the spaces we need to carry out our activity in the best conditions. I am still at the disposal of all those involved in this project so that we can have a modern market in Cibin”, explained Teodor Birț, the director of Piețe Sibiu SA, when asked by councilor Corina Dăncilă (PNL) what is the status of the project. t. birt larget. birt large

We remind you that the Cibin Square area will be completely transformed as a result of an urban regeneration project through which the agri-food market will be modernized, a multi-storey car park will be set up and additional links will be created with the Historic Center. The City Hall of Sibiu, in collaboration with the Romanian Order of Architects, launched a competition for solutions in this regard last year, in which Romanian and foreign architects and urban planners participated. Following the contest, the team formed by Vladostudio SRL and Atelier de Arhitectura Terchilă SRL was chosen as the winner.
