Astrid Fodor will officially announce her candidacy for a new mandate at Sibiu City Hall on Thursday.

The Democratic Forum of Germans in Romania (FDGR) is organizing, on Thursday, an event to launch the candidates for the local elections in Sibiu. “It gives us great pleasure to invite you to participate in the launch conference of the candidates of the Democratic Forum of Germans in Romania for the local elections in Sibiu. The launch event will take place on March 28, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., in the Hall of Mirrors, at the headquarters of the Democratic Forum of Germans in Sibiu, str. G-ral Magheru 1-3, Sibiu. The conference will be attended by the presidents of the FDGR organizations and the main candidates in the local elections,” Gabriel Tischer, the president of the FDGS, said.

Ora de Sibiu sources reported that Astrid Fodor will run for a new mandate at Sibiu City Hall. The official announcement will be made on Thursday during the event organized at the FDGR headquarters.

Adrian Bibu also announced his candidacy on Tuesday. He will again enter the race for the mayor’s seat of Sibiu. “Today (no: March 26), following the analysis at the level of the National Political Bureau of the PNL, the candidates for the local elections were validated. Thus, I have the great honor and joy to announce my candidacy for the position of mayor of the Municipality of Sibiu”, said Adrian Bibu, in an announcement made on his Facebook page.

The candidate designated by the United Right Alliance (ADU) for Sibiu City Hall is Ruxandra Cibu Deaconu from USR Sibiu.
