An employee of the General Directorate of Social Assistance and Child Protection (DGASPC) Ialomiţa was caught red-handed while taking the sum of 600 lei from a person, whom he was helping to receive the allowance for a minor who was no longer in his care.

According to the officers of the General Anticorruption Directorate, yesterday, March 26, 2024, they organized an action to catch a civil servant in the act while he was receiving a sum of money as a bribe. It is about an employee of DGASPC Ialomita who received the sum of 600 lei from a person, in exchange for not fulfilling his duties.

The reporting witness was taking care of a minor in foster care, who had previously left his home. In order to continue receiving the caregiver’s allowance, an employee of the DGASPC asked him for the monthly sum of 600 lei. According to research, this was the fourth month in a row that the whistleblower had given that amount of child care allowance.

In the case, the criminal action was initiated against the DGASPC Ialomița employee, and the prosecutor ordered the measure of detention for 24 hours, and today he will be presented to the court with a proposal for preventive arrest.
