Adrian Bibu officially presented himself as a candidate for Sibiu City Hall. Astrid Fodor’s candidacy will be announced on Thursday

The president of the municipal organization of the PNL, Adrian Bibu, officially announced his candidacy for the position of mayor of Sibiu, a few hours after the FDGR representatives announced that they would present their candidates during Thursday.

Administrator of the county led by Daniela Cîmpean, Adrian Bibu says that he was validated to run for Sibiu City Hall for the second time by the PNL central forums. “Today, following the analysis at the level of the National Political Bureau of the PNL, the candidates for the local elections were validated. Thus, I have the great honor and joy to announce my candidacy for the position of mayor of the Municipality of Sibiu. It is a special privilege and I assure you, at this moment, of my good faith and strong desire to develop Sibiu, to do things for the city and for the people of Sibiu, to increase the quality of life. I warmly invite you to join me, because it is about our city and our future!”, is the message published by Adrian Bibu on his Facebook page, while he was participating in a new debate on the subject of Sibiu PUG.

Debate in which three other candidates for the city mayorship participate: Astrid Fodor, Ruxandra Cibu-Deaconu and Alexandru Găvozdea.

FDGR announces Thursday

Of the four candidates at the debate for PUG, for now only Astrid Fodor is the one who has not been officially presented as a candidate. For this, the representatives of the Democratic Forum of Germans in Romania have prepared for the first part of Thursday the launch of the electoral offer. At the event organized in the form of a press conference, “the presidents of the FDGR organizations and the main candidates for the local elections will participate”, according to the invitation signed by Gabriel Tischer, the president of the Sibiu county organization of the Democratic Forum of Germans.

The main confrontation from four years ago

Astrid Fodor, from the FDGR, and Adrian Bibu, from the PNL, were the main candidates for Sibiu City Hall in the elections four years ago. Then Astrid Fodor won, having been validly voted by 20,199 Sibiians, while Adrian Bibu received the votes of 14,622 inhabitants of the city. The third candidate in descending order of the number of votes was Raul Apostoiu (USR), with 4,786 votes.
