CONGRATULATIONS! The Economic Crime Investigation Service won the 11th edition of the “Giurgiu Police Cup”, in mini-football on a synthetic field!

In the between February 26 and March 22, 2024, on the occasion of the anniversary of the Romanian Police Day, the Giurgiu County Police Inspectorate, through the Office of Professional Training, organized the 11th edition of the “Giurgiu Police Cup”, in mini-football on a synthetic field.

The competition took place every day, from Monday to Friday, between 12:00 and 16:00, included 48 matches and gathered at the start a number of 20 teams from IPJ Giurgiu, with a total of over 250 participating police officers.

Friday, March 22, from 1:00 p.m., the “small final” was played – the match for the 3rd-4th places, a match in which the Bolintin Vale City Police football team beat the Rural Police Department team with a score of 4-0 No. 4 Barbed.

This year’s final, played from 2:00 p.m., pitted the Economic Crime Investigation Service (SICE) team, which has contested eight finals in the last ten years, with five trophies won, against the Rural Police Department team No. 5 Giurgiu, the score being 3-2 in favor of SICE.

SNPPC BT Giurgiu had football guests of the Golden Generation from Dinamo, respectively on Costel Orac, Lica Movila and Marin Dragnea. The opening kick of the final was given by Marin Dragnea, former player of Dinamo and the Romanian national team.

Given the fact that, by the Police Statute (Law no. 360/2002), police officers are prohibited, under any circumstances, from collecting money from natural or legal persons, expenses related to the organization and running of the competition (referees, diplomas, cups, medals and prizes) were ensured with the support of SNPPC Giurgiu Territorial Office, Europol Giurgiu and CNP IPJ Giurgiu.
