Gheorghe Turda demands the establishment of commissions within the Ministry of Culture to certify the quality of artist. Turda says that such commissions existed from 1977, when he was a member, until 2009 when he resigned.

The artist claims that he has studied a lot in his 55-year career and does not accept that amateurs say that they are colleagues with him.

Practically, the role of these commissions is to certify the quality of the performer, not only for popular music performers, says Gheorghe Turda, but also for all types of music.

Turda asks for the Government’s support

In order for this commission to be established, but also to be functional, a law is needed, and the artist asks for the Government’s support in this regard.

At the same time, Turda also demands that all performers go through these commissions, including manele performers, according to Antena 3.

The artist is selective when it comes to his public appearances

The 75-year-old folk singer is very strict when it comes to his appearances in shows or at various events.

“I never go to shows with someone I don’t like,” says Turda.

The folk singer has an impressive career spanning over 55 years. The artist was active in two well-known ensembles, Ciocârlia and Rhapsody Română, but he was the head of the Culture Directorate of the Ministry of the Interior. The popular music performer has a pension of 9,000 lei.
