Former American President Donald Trump harshly criticized current President Joe Biden’s decision to withhold weapons from Israel if he continues his plan to invade the city of Rafah, writes Forbes. Trump accused Biden of supporting Hamas, characterizing this action as harmful to Israel’s fight against terrorism. In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump stated: “Joe Biden, whether he knows it or not, just said he will withhold weapons from Israel as they fight to eradicate the Hamas Terrorists in Gaza.”

Trump has criticized Biden even more harshly for his handling of domestic issues, including pro-Palestinian protests on college campuses. He also accused Biden of being “weak, corrupt and leading people straight into World War III,” suggesting that Biden’s actions are influenced by his donors.

The former president claimed that under his administration, such conflicts would have been avoided, emphasizing his “peace through strength” approach. Trump also claimed that Biden’s policies enable what he called the “Leftist Pro-Terrorist Masses,” criticizing Biden’s alleged lack of law enforcement.

In contrast, Biden defended his administration’s decision in an interview with CNN, saying the US would not provide weapons to Israel in the event of a major invasion of Rafah. He reiterated his commitment to provide defensive weapons to Israel, while expressing concerns about the potential humanitarian impact of a ground offensive in Rafah.

Meanwhile, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin confirmed reports of the suspension of a shipment of “large payload munitions” to Israel, citing concerns about the use of large bombs in densely populated areas. The suspension reflects a nuanced approach to balancing supporting Israel’s security with humanitarian considerations in conflict zones like Rafah.
