Nogă’s father, IIlan (56), was killed by terrorists during the October 7 massacre, and she and her mother, 53, were taken hostage in Gaza. They were separated after the abduction from Kibbutz Beeri. Noga’s older sisters, Meytal and Maayan, lived in student apartments in another part of the settlement.

Noga initially tried to hide in the bushes, but was quickly spotted: “40 terrorists with Kalashnikovs surrounded me. They tied my hands behind my back. They put me in a car.”

In the underground of Fâșie, a terrorist fell in love with her and harassed her every day, the young woman testified in an interview with the Israeli public broadcaster Channel 12.

“I pretended to laugh with him so he wouldn’t shoot me in the head”

She had to handle the situation calmly, despite her terrible fear. “Many times, I pretended to laugh so he wouldn’t shoot me in the head!”

He gave me a ring on the 14th day of captivity, and I stayed with him until the 50th day. He said, “They will all be released, but you will stay here with me and have my children.”

Noga thought her mother, Shiri, was dead until the terrorist group brought her to her cell.

“He brought my mother to approve our marriage”

“One of the Hamas members said he loved me, he wanted to marry me, and he brought my mother to me to approve our marriage,” recalls Noga. Her mother rejected the proposal and started shouting at the gunman.

“People don’t understand the feeling of fear. I lived this for 50 days, 24 hours a day. And when I was sleeping, I dreamed that they open the door in the middle of the night and shoot us. I was waking up in convulsions,” says the young woman.

Speaking about the conditions in captivity, she revealed that “at one point, they brought us half a liter of water for two days. You can’t survive like this for 200 days.”

Hamas and Israel are negotiating a truce this weekend, and the Islamist movement would have been willing to hand over 33 hostages.

Hamas sparked the war with its attack in southern Israel on October 7, in which the militants killed around 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and kidnapped around 250 people. Israel says militants are still holding about 100 hostages and the remains of more than 30 others.

Since then, 34,000 Palestinians have been killed in Israel’s air and ground offensive, according to the Hamas-run Gaza Health Ministry.
