An Israeli girl who was held hostage by Hamas for nearly two months after the October 7 attack has revealed that her captor told her he would not let her go because he wanted to marry her and have children with her. On the 14th day after the kidnapping, he gave her a ring, said the girl, who added that she constantly lived in fear that at some point she would be shot in the head.

Noga Weiss, 18, recounted what happened on the 14th day she was held hostage by Hamas terrorists in Gaza. One of her captors confessed his love for her, she said, according to the Times of Israel.

“He gave me a ring on day 14 and I stayed with him until day 50. He said, ‘They will all be released, but you will stay here with me and have my children,'” the girl said.

When asked how she responded to the proposal, Noga said she pretended to laugh to avoid being shot in the head.

After a few days, the kidnapper told Noga that he was bringing her mother so that he could approve the marriage. “I thought she was killed, I thought I was alone. Suddenly, I found out she was alive, and I wasn’t alone,” Noga said. Her mother, Shiri Weiss, 53, shouted at the terrorist that his proposal could not be accepted.

The kidnappers moved Noga to several places during the 50-day ordeal, and each time she was made to wear a hijab and hold hands with her captor to make it look like a married couple, she said .

The kidnappers frequently spoke of how Israel rightfully belonged to them: “People don’t understand the feeling of fear. I sat for 50 days, 24/7, thinking that they would get fed up with me and shoot me or that they wouldn’t need me until after all. Or that they’ll shoot us while we sleep at night.”

Noga was with her parents in their home in Kibbutz Be’eri when the terrorists attacked on October 7. Her 56-year-old father was killed. “They started shooting at the door, about 40 shots. I had seen the conversations on WhatsApp and understood what was happening. People wrote that their house was on fire and then they stopped answering. I hid under the bed, they came in and take mom. After they took her out, I heard gunshots. I thought she was killed,” the girl recalled.

The young woman’s older sisters were in student dormitories in other areas. They had sent her a WhatsApp message and urged her to run. Noga initially tried to hide in nearby bushes but was quickly spotted by the terrorists, she said.

“Around 40 terrorists surrounded me with Kalashnikovs. They tied my hands behind my back. When they took me, I saw the bodies of people I knew from the kibbutz. Then they put me in a car” , Noga recalled.

Noga and her mother were released on November 25, with the first group of hostages.

Noga admitted that the events of October 7 caused her to lose much of her faith in the Israel Defense Forces, but said she still plans to enlist in May. “On the day of my release, seeing soldiers in IDF uniform was the first time [din 7 octombrie] when I felt safe,” she said.
