The popular baby brand pulled the product after it was deemed an injury risk to children.

Parents have been urged to stop using the infant carrier immediately.

The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission has issued a recall notice for the affected infant carrier.

There are approximately 24 affected products across Ireland.

The warning said that the handles on the product could damage and detach, which could pose a serious risk of injury to children.

The recall only relates to the BABY-SAFE 5Z2 product, not the BABY-SAFE plus II or the BABY-SAFE plus SHR II.

The barcode and batch number of the infant carriers posing a risk to children are unknown.

To identify the Britax infant carriers not affected, the handle adjustment buttons on these products can be found at the top of the carrying handle.

Customers are urged to stop using the product immediately due to its risk to children.

All affected infant carriers will be replaced free of charge with a safe version of the product by the Britax brand.

ARTS & CRAFTS ALERT

The warning comes days after Irish parents were hit with another recall for products at risk to children.

Arts and crafts products were pulled from the shelves at Dealz/Pepco after it was deemed a chemical risk to children.

The bargain store was issued an urgent recall notice by The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission earlier this month.

An Arts & Craft Potter’s Wheel was found to exceed the lead content limit, posing an urgent risk to children.

Customers were urged to stop using the product and to keep out of the reach of children.
