AN urgent warning has been issued to Irish parents after a popular baby product was recalled.
The Britax Roemer Baby-Safe carrier is being recalled from stores around the country.
The popular baby brand pulled the product after it was deemed an injury risk to children.
Parents have been urged to stop using the infant carrier immediately.
The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission has issued a recall notice for the affected infant carrier.
There are approximately 24 affected products across Ireland.
The warning said that the handles on the product could damage and detach, which could pose a serious risk of injury to children.
The recall only relates to the BABY-SAFE 5Z2 product, not the BABY-SAFE plus II or the BABY-SAFE plus SHR II.
The barcode and batch number of the infant carriers posing a risk to children are unknown.
To identify the Britax infant carriers not affected, the handle adjustment buttons on these products can be found at the top of the carrying handle.
Customers are urged to stop using the product immediately due to its risk to children.
