Basically, what President Biden is asking at the moment is for Romania to remain without air defense, at a time when Russia is advancing dangerously on the front in Ukraine. Absolutely no talk about strengthening NATO’s eastern flank, about the fact that both Romania and the Republic of Moldova are threatened by a potential Russian assault on Odessa. Everything for Ukraine, nothing for Romania!
I’ll tell you one thing, after taking the country in stride countless times and talking to tens of thousands of Romanians: no one in their right mind wants us to get involved more than we did in the war in Ukraine. We have already buried our farmers and transporters, whom we brought close to bankruptcy, we have already donated everything that could be donated from a technical-military point of view to our neighboring country. What else do they want, let’s send our children to the front so that the arms industry is happy to the end?
Everything up to Romania’s security! We are neither the village fools nor the lads you send to sacrifice every time! Our country currently needs as many investments in military equipment as possible, it needs as many strategic ammunition reserves as possible! And no, I’m not talking about the so-called military investments made by the treacherous Governments of recent years, which end up anywhere, less in the military endowment fund!
What our politicians have not yet understood, including the Ficus of the country, is that Romanians are sick and tired of being taken for fools. After years of pandemic, war, lies upon lies, people want to hear, more than anything, the truth. They want their political representatives to think about peace, not armed conflict. They want Romania’s interests to be prioritized at the end of the day.
