A pedestrian hit by a car on Aurel Vlaicu street

On Tuesday evening, a tragic road accident took place on Aurel Vlaicu street in Cluj-Napoca, when a man was hit by a car while crossing the street in an unauthorized place.

According to the information provided by ISU Cluj representatives to monitorulcj.ro, the man, approximately 30 years old, suffered a head injury as a result of the impact, but was conscious and cooperative at the time of the intervention of the medical crews. He was rushed to the hospital for further medical care.

From the preliminary investigations carried out by IPJ Cluj, it was found that the accident took place at around 21:30, when the pedestrian would have engaged in crossing the street through an unmarked and unsignalized place for pedestrians. He was hit by a car moving in the direction of Traian Vuia Street. The driver, a 29-year-old man from Maramureș county, was tested with the breathalyzer, and the result was negative.

The authorities took over the investigation to establish the identity of the pedestrian and to clarify the exact circumstances of the accident.
