The main measures ordered by the police during the May 1 and Easter mini-holiday

In the context of the mini-holiday on May 1 and the Easter holidays, between May 1 and 6, daily, over 200 police officers from the Dâmbovița County Police Inspectorate were on duty and acted to ensure a climate of order and safety public, but also to prevent the occurrence of any events that could endanger the safety of the community.

Among the main objectives of the police were the prevention and deterrence of any acts likely to disturb public peace, the fight against criminality, as well as ensuring a quick intervention in events.

We specify that during this mini-holiday there were no major incidents affecting the safety of the community.

Thus, during the six days, public order police officers were requested to intervene in 238 events, of which 137 were notified through the National Single Emergency Call System.

Also, the police were notified about the commission of 136 crimes, of which 75 were crimes against the person and 28 against property.

During this period, 56 acts of domestic violence were reported, most of the recorded situations being generated by spontaneous conflicts caused by alcohol consumption, family misunderstandings or jealousy.

We note that in such situations, police officers issue temporary protection orders in the exercise of their duties, when they find that there is an imminent risk that a person’s life, physical integrity or freedom will be endangered by an act of domestic violence, in order to reduce this risk, for which, during the reference period, such a provisional protection order was issued.

At the same time, during this period, the traffic police had an active presence on the main roads in the county to prevent the violation of traffic rules, as well as to firmly sanction drivers who did not respect the legal speed limit or got behind the wheel under the influence alcohol or other prohibited substances.

In order to detect these drivers, more than 1,200 vehicles were stopped and controlled in traffic, and more than 500 drivers were tested with the means provided.

In addition, for the violations of the legal norms, 936 contraventional sanctions were applied, the total value of which amounts to over 260,000 lei, of which the most sanctions, 611, were for non-compliance with the provisions of GEO 195/2002 on the circulation on public roads.

Also, as a complementary measure, 37 registration certificates were withdrawn and 69 driving licenses were retained, 22 of which were for exceeding the speed limit, 7 for the consumption of alcoholic beverages and 3 for the consumption of prohibited substances.

During the 6 days, a road accident resulting in the death of a person was registered, respectively, on May 4, at around 10:54, the police officers from the Fieni City Police were informed by the medical staff from the hospital in It deals with the fact that a person stated that he was hit by a car.

From the checks carried out, the police found that a 40-year-old man from the Runcu commune, on the morning of May 4, at around 06:50, while allegedly driving a van, on the communal road 134 Runcu – Brebu, would have turned to the right on Podu-Florii street in the village of Siliștea, at which point a 59-year-old man from Siliștea, who would have been lying down on the roadway, would have been hit and injured.

The pedestrian was transported to the hospital for medical care, and died later in the evening.

After the occurrence of the event, the driver allegedly left the scene of the road accident, being identified by the police at his residence.

The man was tested with the breathalyzer, with a negative result, and biological blood samples were collected.

In the case, the police have drawn up a criminal case for committing the crime of manslaughter and leaving the scene of the accident or modifying or erasing its traces.

It should also be noted that, in the period leading up to the Easter Holidays, the police officers from the Economic Crime Investigation Service acted, together with the representatives of the Veterinary Health and Food Safety Directorate, to verify the legality of the trade in products specific to this period.

Thus, 32 contraventional sanctions were applied to GEO no. 28/1999 regarding the obligation of economic agents to use electronic fiscal marking devices, in the total amount of 196,000 lei, and the confiscation of 6,717 lei was ordered.

On the other hand, it was also ordered to suspend the activity of four commercial companies, withdraw and destroy 38 kg of meat and meat products, and 12 other contraventional sanctions were applied, in the amount of 70,000 lei, for violating the provisions of GD no. 984/2005 regarding the establishment and sanctioning contraventions of veterinary health and food safety rules.

We also remind you that on the morning of May 3rd, the police officers of the Weapons, Explosives and Dangerous Substances Service, under the coordination of a case prosecutor from the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Târgoviște District Court, implemented a home search warrant in the commune of Aninoasa, at a 52-year-old man, during which two licensed non-lethal weapons, a metal detector and a lethal bullet cartridge with an intact staple were discovered and seized.

From the investigations carried out, the police found that the weapons would come from Spain and would have been brought into the country without the right.
