A serious road accident took place today at the exit from Săcele towards Corbu, involving a car and a cyclist. Unfortunately, the cyclist was declared dead at the scene of the accident by the SMURD C crew that intervened urgently.
An ambulance belonging to the County Ambulance Service (SAJ) also arrived at the scene, but despite the efforts made, the victim’s life could not be saved.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the accident and to establish responsibilities.
Traffic in the area of the accident was disrupted for several hours while emergency teams worked at the scene. Authorities are calling on drivers to be more careful, especially in areas where interaction with cyclists is more frequent, to prevent such tragedies in the future.
