Several products from Lidl have become more expensive in stores outside Romania, and now it’s the turn of ours.

Inflation pushes LIDL representatives from behind to make certain products more expensive.

Stores such as Lidl must decide whether to absorb these increases and cut margins a year after adding billions of euros to bulk sales due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Loyal Lidl customers are wondering to what extent they will be affected by the increase in product prices. Many supermarkets have already started losing customers due to price hikes, and Lidl doesn’t want the same thing to happen to them under any circumstances, so they will only increase prices on a few products.

According to el espanol.com, the first products that go up in price at Lidl due to inflation and that absolutely everyone buys are:

oil – the price of which increases by 6.5%

sugar – the price of which increases by 6.5%

breakfast cereals – the price of which increases by 4.2%.

The big supermarkets are in a very delicate situation after the manufacturers said that “the worst is yet to come“. It looks like prices will be going up for a long time, it’s not just a temporary thing, and the most affected in this whole story are the consumers.
