The second day of Easter is also known as Bright Monday. Today, believers take into account several traditions and superstitions that have been passed down from generation to generation. It is believed that today the gates of Heaven are open.

Today, in the Enlightened World, priests go to church and perform memorial services for the souls of the sleeping ones. Those who die on Easter Day or Holy Week are said to go directly to Heaven, because only the doors of Heaven are open on these days, those of Hell being closed.
There are superstitions that say that people should not work the whole week and women are forbidden to sew, because it is said that they will die by lightning.
In different regions of the country, on the second day of Easter, different traditions and customs are solemnly observed. For example, it is said that today it is good for the godfathers to be visited by the Finns, who must bring pasture, red eggs and rolls.
In Transylvania, eggs collide “head to back”, and housewives avoid sweeping or cooking on this day. In some areas, young men sprinkle their sweethearts with water, and girls sprinkle boys with perfume.

“And now we beg You, Lord, for Your servants (N), who come under the cover of Your holy house, receive their repentance and forgive them, for Your resurrection, from the multitude of sins of the countless, known and unknown, of voluntarily and involuntarily; cleanse them like the harlot who was crying, and like Peter who had denied himself and weeping bitterly you received him again. Receive the humility and confession of Your servants, as You received the publican who prayed with a sigh. Put Your fear in their hearts so that they will fear You and love You with all their hearts. Grant them to keep all Your commandments all the days of their lives, walking in Your will.
Entitle them without condemnation to come and partake of Your most pure Body and Your honest Blood, so that, receiving them with dignity, they may be partakers of Your kingdom, praising You and glorifying You, together with the without beginning of Your Father and with Your Most Holy and good and life-giving Spirit, now and ever and to the ages of ages. Amen”.
