IRISH parents have been issued an urgent warning about an arts and crafts product that was sold in Dealz/Pepco.
The bargain store pulled the product from the shelves after it was deemed a chemical risk to children.
The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission issued an urgent recall notice for Art & Craft Potter’s Wheel as it was tested that the product exceeds the lead content limit.
There are approximately 30 affected products sold in the Republic of Ireland.
The brand is Pepco and the product code is 896723.
The batch numbers are 20230624, 20230722 and 20230819.
The bar code is 2200159662960.
Customers are urged to discontinue use of the product immediately and keep it out of the reach of children.
They are encouraged to return it to any Dealz/Pepco stores for a full refund, no receipt is required.

Safety bosses have confirmed that the product, designed for children, may pose a risk to reproductive organs.
Dealz released a notice announcing they were recalling their Disney Coloring Pencils in a Tube, urging parents not to use the product.
CHEMICAL TESTING FAILURE
The bosses said: “Dealz is enacting a recall of various Pepco Licensed Coloring Pencils in tubes due to a chemical testing failure.”
“If you have bought the above product, do not use it. Instead return it to a Dealz Store for a full refund (no proof of purchase required).”
They continued: “We are asking any consumers who purchased the above product to stop using it and return it to Store for a full refund, no receipt is required.”
The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission also issued a recall notice for the products, confirming that they are classified as unsafe for young children.
They said: “The risk associated with the product is a chemical risk. The product contains unacceptable levels of Phthalates that are classified as unsafe for young children.”
“This phthalate may harm the health of children, causing possible damage to the reproductive system.”

The codes of recalled products are 757270, 758008, 831809, 857408, 889739, 855168, 855169, 855170.
