Public institutions of performances or concerts, with funding from the state, local or private budget, will have to ensure the accessibility of artistic productions to people with disabilities, for at least one artistic production per year. The measure would apply starting on January 1, 2025, according to a legislative project adopted by the senators.

“Given that access to culture is a fundamental right, and people with disabilities have the same need and desire to experience and enjoy music, theater, opera, performances and other forms of cultural expression as any other person, we propose that the public institutions of shows or concerts, regardless of the level of subordination and funding, alone or in partnership, ensure the accessibility of artistic productions for people with disabilities, for at least one artistic production per year, at their choice: dedicated, adapted from their own repertoire or hosted”, show the initiators.

They propose that the measure be applied starting from January 1, 2025, in order to allow the institutions a reasonable time to organize themselves and be able to fulfill in the best conditions this possible new legal obligation.
In order to enter into force, the measure must also be adopted by the deputies and promulgated.
