In recognition of their merits for the defense of Romania’s independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity and interests, War Veterans Day was marked today, April 29, in Suceava, through an emotionally charged event, attended by veterans Suceava, officials, a council of priests who officiated a religious service and numerous participants in the public.

On behalf of the county public administration, the president of the Suceava County Council, Gheorghe Flutur, sent a message of gratitude and appreciation to the Romanian veterans and heroes.

The mayor of the municipality Ion Lungu, the Prefect of Suceava Alexandru Moldovanu, retired colonel gave speeches Neculai Niga the president of the National Association of War Veterans – “Muşatinii” County Branch, and students from General School no. 1 from Suceava recited poems dedicated to war veterans.

At the end of the ceremony that took place at the Sucevan Heroes Monument, in the “Professor Ioan Nemeș” central park, President Gheorghe Flutur was joined by Vice Presidents Niculai Barbă and Vasile Tofan, as well as the public administrator of Suceava County, Irina Vasilciuc, for the submission of a flowers on behalf of the Suceava County Council.

In the arrangements of the Suceava Municipality Fanfare, representatives of political parties and state institutions laid flowers and observed moments of respect and silence.
