Young man detained, after causing an accident with two victims and running away. The driver was drunk, drugged and had a suspended driver’s license –

The traffic police from Timișoara were alerted by calling 112, on Saturday evening, around 19:40, regarding the fact that a traffic accident occurred on Ardealului street resulting in the injury of two people, and the driver responsible for the accident leaving the scene the act without the consent of the police or the prosecutor.

“The police immediately went to the scene finding out that a man was driving a car on Ardealului street in the municipality of Timișoara, and at one point he collided head-on with a car, driven by a woman aged 31 years, after the impact the driver guilty of the accident leaving the scene. At the same time, as a result of the impact, two women were injured, respectively the 31-year-old woman and a passenger in the car driven by her, having the same age“, IPJ Timiș sent.

Following the investigations carried out, shortly after, the police officers of the Road Bureau identified and located the driver, namely a 26-year-old man, who was taken to the police headquarters for questioning.

Following the checks carried out in the databases, it turned out that the young man appears to have a canceled driver’s license.

At the same time, after testing with the breathalyzer, it was found that he was under the influence of alcoholic beverages, namely 0.84 mg/l of pure alcohol in the exhaled air.

Also, after testing with the device provided by the young man, indications emerged regarding the possible presence of psychoactive substances.

The suspect was detained for 24 hours, under the aspect of committing the crimes of culpable bodily harm, driving a motor vehicle on public roads with a canceled driver’s license, driving a motor vehicle on public roads under the influence of alcoholic beverages, driving a motor vehicle under the influence of psychoactive substances and leaving the scene of the accident without the consent of the police or the prosecutor, being placed in the Detention and Preventive Arrest Center of the Caraș – Severin County Police Inspectorate.
