Romanians woke up yesterday morning with their cars covered in Saharan dust and stormed the car washes to clean their cars.

Car expert Titi Aur explained to DC News TV the danger that Saharan dust presents to cars. According to him, only the appearance of the car is affected, not the safety. However, the side windows must be washed manually, as they can reduce visibility.

“The danger isn’t that big. It’s annoying, really, the cars are ugly, and the windshield wipers and liquid manage to clean pretty well. Basically it’s not that bad, just that the side windows, yeah, in true, they should be cleaned. It’s more annoying than dangerous. With a cloth, with a can of water, let’s clean the side windows a bit, but in principle it’s not that serious, it reduces visibility,” explained Titi Aur.
