AUR candidate for the Capital City Hall Mihai Enache asks Gabriela Firea to withdraw her candidacy for the European Parliament elections

The AUR candidate for the Capital City Hall, Mihai Enache, asked Gabriela Firea to show respect for the citizens of Bucharest, whose vote she is asking for, and immediately withdraw her candidacy from the PSD-PNL list for the European Parliament elections.

“I have a message for Mrs. Firea and I believe that it is in agreement with all Bucharest residents, including those who support her. I ask Gabriela Firea to show a minimum of decency and respect towards the citizens of Bucharest, whose vote she is asking, and to immediately withdraw her candidacy for the position of European Parliament member”, Mihai Enache wrote on Facebook on Wednesday.

He stated, on Tuesday, regarding the new candidates of the PSD-PNL coalition for the position of mayor of Bucharest, Gabriela Firea and Sebastian Burduja, that now the two formations have two losing candidates.

“I would like to make a few comments regarding the sham, the circus and the mockery with which the PSD and the PNL treat the local elections in Bucharest. We had a long night yesterday, the night that meant 15 hours of pain in the making and after all this pain Marcel Ciolacu and Nicolae Ciucă managed to give birth to some candidates that they threw in the trash can two months ago. Today, practically, instead of having a losing candidate, the governing coalition has two losing candidates, without proven results in Public Administration. Instead of a candidate who mocked patients by calling them to the private hospital to take 750 RON from them to look at their feet, we have a candidate who tolerated the “Horror Asylums” and the tortures they were subjected to the elders in those locations. Instead of a candidate who does tax evasion by buying his personal goods with the money of the commercial companies he owns, we have a candidate educated with the money of the big evasions and lootings of the 90s”, said Mihai Enache, on Tuesday, in a conference of press.

PSD and PNL decided to run separately for the Capital City Hall, thus giving up the candidacy of Cătălin Cîrstoiu after 14 hours of negotiations and after Cîrsoiu was on Monday for over five hours at the Victoria Palace, for discussions. As a result of this decision, the social democrat Gabriela Firea and the liberal Sebastian Burduja return to the positions of candidates for the General City Hall, the two announcing, before Cîrstoiu’s appointment, their intention to run.

On Tuesday, Cătălin Cîrstoiu had the first reaction on Facebook after PSD and PNL gave up his candidacy for the Capital City Hall. He stated that he did not take the decision to take a step back “because a doctor never gives up” and that, “basically, the political decision must rest with the political leaders”. “I would like all the politicians who are accused by the press to explain publicly whether they are guilty or not, as I did. I say once again: they are not incompatible”, said the doctor who again rejected the accusation of incompatibility.
