On Wednesday, April 24, 2024, in Brussels, Moldova submits a new report on the progress of accession to the EU. The document will be sent to European officials by the deputy prime minister for European integration, Cristina Gherasimov.
According to the spokesperson of the Government, Daniel Vodă, the document refers to the progress made by Moldova from June 2023 to March 2024. It will be submitted in two stages, the first in April, and the second – in September.

“We continue to build European Moldova. (…) The elaborated document reflects the progress made on the 2023 package and on the achievement of the accession criteria from June 2023 until this March”, said Daniel Vodă.
The results of the evaluation will be available in the fall.
Every year, the European Union adopts conclusions on enlargement and assesses the progress made towards integration by countries with candidate status. The latest conclusions, which date from December 2023, show that the Republic of Moldova has made substantial progress and strengthened the implementation of reforms.
Our country was suggested to “achieve a solid record of investigations and convictions, including in high-profile cases”, in the context of fighting corruption. Also, the Chisinau administration was urged to pursue reforms in the economic field, based on the EU-Republic of Moldova association agreement and the comprehensive free trade agreement between the EU, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine. At the same time, the government’s position to align the country with European sanctions was welcomed.
