Terrible accident on the A1! A driver died after being pierced by a metal parapet

A man died after the car he was driving hit the median parapet on the A1 highway, in the area of ​​kilometer 82, in the area of ​​Rătești, Argeș.

The INFOTRAFFIC Center of the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police informs that traffic is temporarily stopped on the second lane of the A1 highway, direction Pitesti towards Capital, following an accident at kilometer 82, in the area of ​​Rătești, Argeș.

The driver of a car was pronounced dead after hitting the median barrier.

Traffic is directed on the first lane, until around 20.00, when it is estimated that traffic will resume under normal conditions.

“From the preliminary checks (…) it was determined that a car traveling towards Pitesti, driven by a 38-year-old man from Argeş county, in circumstances to be determined from the investigations, lost control over the direction of travel and collided with the metal slide. The impact resulted in the death of the driver, who was the only occupant”, announced the representatives of the Argeş County Police Inspectorate.

The Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (ISU) Argeş announced that it intervened with an intervention vehicle, two SMURD crews and an extrication vehicle. An emergency vehicle from Dâmboviţa county was also redirected to the scene.

“The crews that arrived at the scene of the intervention found that there was a person incarcerated inside the car. The firefighters carried out maneuvers to extricate the victim, for which, unfortunately, despite their efforts, they could not do anything,” said the representatives of ISU Argeş.
