Sepsi, with a slim chance of getting another place in the European Cup, and FCSB, ever closer to the first championship title after a nine-year break, face each other in the most unbalanced game of the 6th play-off stage of the SuperLiga.

Sepsi is in 6th place, with 27 points, five behind those from Farul, who are in 3rd, the last position that can allow participation in the Conference League, and comes after a win, two draws and two defeats recorded in play -off, and in the previous stage it lost at home, score 1-3 with Craiova University.

In fact, the team coached by Bernd Storck did not win any of the three matches played at home in the play-off, 1-1 with CFR Cluj, 1-1 with Farul and 1-3 with Universitatea Craiova (in the regular season of ticked seven successes, five draws and three failures at home), and its top scorer is Marius Ştefănescu, with 13 successes in the SuperLiga.

“I would be happy to spoil the FCSB team’s day, to celebrate the title at their home! It’s about the last chance for us to get the 3rd place”, said Laszlo Dioszegi, president of Sepsi.

FCSB is the leader, with 45 points, 11 more than the second-ranked University of Craiova, and is the only undefeated team in the play-off, with four wins and a draw, and in the previous stage it drew at home with Rapid, score 2-2 (the match was played at the National Arena).

The team coached by Elias Charalambous won the two games played away in the play-off, 1-0 against Farul and 1-0 against CFR Cluj (in the regular season, it ticked off nine successes, four draws and two failures on foreign grounds), and the best scorer of it and of the championship is Florinel Coman, with 17 goals.

“Now, we can beat Sepsi, make Craiova a draw, and we are champions. We have to win only one match. If we win it, goodbye!” said Gigi Becali, the owner of FCSB.

FCSB prevailed in all three matches against Sepsi in this SuperLiga edition: 5-2 away, in the round, and 1-0 at home, in the return – in the regular season, 2-1 at home – in the play-off .
