This year, May 1 and Easter are a few days apart, so many Romanians will combine their days off to have a mini-vacation. A three-night package during the Easter holidays at a guesthouse in Transylvania can reach 1,950 lei per person. The price includes full board accommodation and access to the spa facilities. All meals are included, from breakfast to dinner, with a varied menu.
In the Maramures, a similar offer reaches 1,500 lei per person for the entire holiday, plus festive dinner and on-site excursions or Mocănița ride in Vișeu de Sus. Prices can reach 1,700 lei in the area, if they include live music on Easter evening, as well as alcoholic beverages.
On SEASIDEthe prices are about the same, and a four- to five-star hotel has an offer of 177 euros per night, and in resorts such as Vama Veche, only accommodation, without anything else, between May 1 and Easter can be between 400 and 500 lei per night.
However, the average per country for a three-day stay during Easter is approximately 400-500 euros for a couple, according to tourism consultant Traian Bădulescu, quoted by Hotnews.
As an average estimate, throughout the country, tourism consultant Traian Bădulescu says that “compared to last year, hotel rates have increased by up to 15%. Some hotels, especially 4 and 5 star hotels, chose to keep their rates, others increased them, but by up to 15%. It is normal considering that we still have inflation, the costs for utilities, energy, food have increased and there are also increasing costs for employed staff”.
