A new shipment of food products and military equipment left Romania on Monday for the Gaza Strip. The value of the aid granted, according to some decisions of the National Committee for Emergency Situations, is 8.2 million lei, informs News.ro.

“Romania continues to provide humanitarian assistance to the civilian population of the Gaza Strip. During the morning, a new shipment was sent with food products and military equipment – tents, sleeping bags, beds, etc. – in a total amount of 8.2 million lei, made available by the National Administration of State Reserves and Special Issues”, the Government announced on Monday.

According to the cited source, the decision to grant these products was taken within the National Committee for Emergency Situations, led by Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu.

Thus, the transport is carried out with national resources up to the HUB set up by the European Union Commission in Cyprus. Later, through the European Civil Protection Mechanism, humanitarian aid is transported between Cyprus and the Gaza Strip with the help of specialized UN agencies.
