TIMISOARA. Strong impact and overturned traffic in Timisoara. Two cars collided on Calea Martirilor on Wednesday morning.

The two cars completely blocked the direction of traffic towards Giroc, and the 78-year-old driver who caused the accident was injured and remained trapped in the car.

Firefighters intervened with an extrication crew. The injured was later handed over to the doctors on the ambulance and transported to the hospital.

The police are going to establish the exact causes of the accident.

A 78-year-old man drove a car on Calea Martirilor in Timișoara, on lane 1, from Alexandru Averescu street towards Dr. Ioan Mureșan, and at one point he made a U-turn, colliding with a car that was moving regularly on lane 2, having the same direction of travel, driven by a 31-year-old man.

As a result of the impact, the 78-year-old man was injured and transported to the hospital.
