A terrible incident took place in Calarasi! A 4-year-old girl died shortly after allegedly eating fish on Palm Sunday. Shocked by the news, her grandmother died in her hospital bed a few hours later. The investigators took samples from the home of the two, but also from the store where they bought the frozen product.

Gabriela died suddenly

Gabriela, a 4-year-old girl, spent her Valentine’s Day at her grandparents’ in Călăraşi, and together with the whole family they had a festive meal.

Shortly after, the neighbors were alerted by the cries coming from the family yard. The little girl and her grandmother were lying on the bed. An ambulance was immediately called and the two were taken to hospital. Unfortunately, the doctors could do nothing more for the child.

the grandmother and the little girl, both lying on the bed. The girl was probably in a coma.”, said a neighbor, according to the Observer.

The grandmother found out what happened to her granddaughter in the security room and went into cardiac arrest. Resuscitation measures lasted over an hour and a half, but she could no longer be saved.

” When the patient was being moved from the bed to the stretcher, she had a cardiac arrest and cardiorespiratory resuscitation measures were started, which lasted about an hour

and a half.”, said Victor Postovan, head of the ATI department, Olteniţa Municipal Hospital.

The whole family felt sick

Gabriela’s grandfather also arrived at the hospital, who revealed that the whole family had eaten fish bought from the village store. Of the four grandchildren they had, three ate, Gabriela died and the other two complained of vomiting.

Authorities went to the family home and took evidence to find out what happened. Samples were also taken from the village shop where the fish was bought.
