Man injured, following a road accident at the intersection between Tudor Vladimirescu and Orizontului streets, in Alba Iulia

Liviu Zgârciu, the spokesperson of the National Museum of the Alba Iulia Union, said that from Wednesday, May 1, 2024, the Apulum Guard will resume historical reenactment performances, in the “Alba Carolina” Citadel

“On the 1st of May we resume the activity. We start on a Wednesday because it’s Holy Week and we can’t do the first show on Good Friday. Then there will be performances every Friday until mid-October, from 6pm in the first part of May and from 7pm onwards, then in October we will return to 6pm depending on the darkness outside.

The Apulum Guard has four turpes, the Romans, the XIII Gemini Legion, the Wolves of Apulon, the Ludus Apulenis and the Magna Nemesis dancers will be present in the same location as we have used to you so far, in front of the 4th proto, and if the weather is favorable we will move to Principia. The event is organized by the Alba Iulia City Hall with the support of the National Museum of the Alba Iulia Union. As always, the programs are different, we will also have new things”declared Liviu Zgârciu, spokesperson of the National Museum of the Alba Iulia Union.

The performances will take place every Friday (except 3.05 – Good Friday), according to the following schedule:

– 01.05.2024 at 18:00
– 10.05.2024 at 18:00
– starting from 17.05.2024, every Friday from 19:00.

The Apulum Guard is an ancient historical reenactment troupe composed of four formations – the XIII Gemina Legion, the Wolves of Apoulon, the Ludus Apulensis and the Magna Nemesis.

The formations are made up of volunteers from Albaiuli who try to reconstruct military and civil aspects of Daco-Romanian history, focusing on the promotion of local heritage.
