A serious road accident took place today, in Arsa, after a drunk driver drove into two children, and then hit two parked cars and the fence of a building.

According to IPJ Constanța, on April 1, around 2:40 p.m., policemen from the Mangalia Municipal Police – Road Safety Bureau were alerted to the fact that a road accident occurred on Mihai Eminescu Street in the village of Arsa.

“The police officers dispatched to the scene found that a 64-year-old man allegedly drove a car, lost control of the steering and injured two minors, aged 3 and 9, respectively.

Later, the car would have collided with a bridgehead, after which it would have hit two parked vehicles and the fence of a building.

As a result of the road accident, the driver and the two minors were injured.

The driver was tested with the breathalyzer, the result being 0.84 mg/l of pure alcohol in the exhaled air.

It was also tested with the device provided, in order to establish indications regarding the possible presence of psychoactive substances, the result being negative.

Later, he was taken to a medical unit, for the taking of biological samples, in order to establish the blood alcohol level” – IPJ Constanyour.

In the case, a criminal investigation file was drawn up for committing the crimes of culpable bodily harm and driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or other substances.

The County Ambulance Service also announced the condition of the two injured. Thus, the three-year-old boy suffered a head injury and is conscious, and the nine-year-old girl is in a coma.
